BANTAM INDOOR SESSIONS CONTINUE MARCH 17 AT THE MARY McCORMICK RECREATION CENTRE; MOSQUITO AND PEEWEE SELECTS RESUME WORKOUTS AT THE BOB ABATE CRC ON MARCH 21
As another baseball season fast approaches, indoor tryouts and workouts for players in out TP Select program carry on like a brisk winter breeze.
The Bantam Select team continues its indoor spring training program on Thursday, March 17 in the gym at the Mary McCormick Recreation Centre (located at 66 Sheridan Avenue – one block west of Dufferin Street and three blocks south of Dundas Street West). Bantam workouts will now be scheduled for every Thursday from 7:30 to 9:00 p.m. beginning next week and will run until April 28 at the McCormick CRC facility.
Indoor tryouts and workouts for players in our Mosquito and Peewee Select teams will resume after the March Break on Monday, March 21 at the Bob Abate Community and Recreation Centre (485 Montrose Avenue). Here is the schedule:
Thursday, March 17
BANTAM SELECT TRYOUT/WORKOUT: 7:30 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. (Mary McCormick Recreation Centre)
(All Bantam Practices will be now held every Thursday at the Mary McCormick CRC until April 28.)
Monday, March 21
MOSQUITO SELECT TRYOUT/WORKOUT: 7:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. (Bob Abate Recreation Centre)
PEEWEE SELECT TRYOUT/WORKOUT: 8:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. (Bob Abate Recreation Centre)
The Toronto Playgrounds Select program is a team which players have to “make”. Any player who is registered in our TP House League program (and not playing rep) is eligible to try out.
Our TP select teams usually play in a select loop during the season, with one game (and at least one practice) each week. These select games and practices will be in addition to house league games and practices.
The TP Baseball Committee wishes to stress that players will ONLY be allowed to participate in the TP Select Program ONLY if they are registered with payment in the TP House League Program and participating regularly with their 2011 house league team. THERE WILL BE NO EXCEPTIONS TO THIS RULE.
Please note that there will be additional costs for those players who make the TP select teams, which will be in addition to house league fees.
