TP SELECT: Martingrove # 1 Edges Mosquito Selects 14-13

MOSQUITO SELECTS RALLY FALLS SHORT AS TEAM SUFFERS FIRST LOSS OF SEASON

Erik's clutch hit with the bases loaded in the fifth inning delivered home the final two Mosquito Select runs of the game.

The TP Mosquito Select Team suffered their first loss of the season last night as Martingrove # 1 edged them 14-13 at Martingrove Gardens.

The Mosquito Selects dug themselves into a hole early in the game by allowing Martingrove # 1 to build a 10-0 lead through three innings.

However, the Mosquito Selects made a valiant rally in the fourth and fifth innings to mount a comeback. According to Coach Michael Godel, the team started to battle hard and fought off many tough pitches to draw several walks.

Once the Mosquito Select players were on the basepaths, their jigging and dancing rattledĀ  the Martingrove pitchers and defense. The pressure forced many opposition miscues which allowed the Mosquito Selects to rally using “team speed and small ball”

Despite scoring eight runs in the fifth inning, the Mosquito Selects comeback attempt fell short.

The Mosquito Selects (2-1) play York at Christie Pits Diamond # 3 on Sunday, May 29 at 6:30 p.m.
