ROYALS CROWN JAYS 8-7; YANKEES POUND LIZZIES 14-8
Under warm and sunny skies at Christie Pits, the teams in the Peewee Division resumed regular season play with vigour, determination and purpose.
The Red Sox staged a dramatic six run comeback to defeat the Orioles 10-8 in three innings of play at Diamond # 2 in the late evening Peewee matchup.
According to TP Cub Reporter Michael “Scoop” Godel, the Red Sox scored all six of their runs in the rally with two outs in the top of the third. The Beantowners made the most of their opportunities in the comeback. In the end, Georgia (4) of the Red Sox hit a clutch single to deliver the winning run.
Cooper (8) of the Red Sox (1 IP; 0 ER; 1 H; 1 W; 3 K’s) pitched a solid bottom of the third to snuff out the Orioles and pick up the save. Additionally, Cooper had a solid game at the dish with a double and a walk and he also stole home twice.
Micah (2) of the Orioles pitched a scoreless first inning as he left three Red Sox runners stranded on base. His effort sparked the Orioles and allowed them to jumpout to an early lead.
Meanwhile, the Royals edged the Jays 8-7 on Diamond # 3 and the Yankees pounded the Lizzies 14-8 in the early game on Diamond # 2.
