On a warm evening at Ravina Gardens Park this evening, Annette defeated the Toronto Playgrounds Mosquito Select team 16-5 in four innings.

A top notch Annette pitching brigade neutralized the TP offense through most of the game. In fact, the starting pitcher for Annette (# 33) limited the Mosquito Selects to five hits in the first two innings while allowing only one run.

Meanwhile, Annette made the most of their offensive opportunities during the game. After TP jumped out to an early 1-0 lead in the top of the first (Ben (5) drew a walk and eventually came around to score), Annette answered right back with four in the bottom half to lead 4-1.

In the bottom of the second, Annette punched across three more runs to widen their adavantage to 7-1.

However, the Mosquito Selects offense came to life in the top of the third as TP scored three to cut the deficit to three. Key offensive highlights was a two run double by Zachary (32); a double by Jack (27); and a rbi single by Sasha (13).

Trailing 7-4, the Mosquito Selects were unable to shut down the potent Annette attack as their opponents added three more to the ledger in the bottom of the third to extend their lead  to 10-4.

Toronto Playgrounds trimmed the deficit to five in the top of the fourth when Oliver (9) delivered a rbi single.

In the bottom of the fourth, Annette scored six more and pulled away for the victory.

The Mosquito Selects (1-3-1) continue their weekend road trip when they travel to Lloyd McConnie Park on Sunday, June 10 to play Martingrove at 6 p.m.
