With the score tied 7-7, Sam (15) blazed home in the bottom of the fourth on a wild pitch and scored the winning run for the Jays. Sam went 2 for 2 at the dish with a walk, 2 RBI’s, 2 runs scored, and four steals.

Beneath overcast skies at Christie Pits Diamond 2 tonight, the Jays edged the Orioles 8-7 to win a thrilling four inning Peewee Division nightcap game under the lights.

Jays starter Keegan (2) pitched two solid innings where he allowed only one run while striking out four Orioles.

With the game tied 7-7 in the bottom of the fourth, Sam (15) of the Jays led off the inning with a single, and proceeded to steal two bases to reach third. At this juncture, the Orioles uncorked a wild pitch, and Sam blazed down the third baseline and slid home in a cloud of dust to score the winning run.

Jays starting pitcher Keegan (2) was solid in the top of the first as he kept the O’s off the scoresheet with a stellar three strikeout effort.

The Jays scored two in the bottom of the first to sprint into an early lead. Sam and Keegan led off the inning with consecutive walks. After a series of stolen bases that advanced the runners, Sam came zooming in with the first run of the game on an Orioles error. Keegan followed him by stealthily stealing home.

In the top of the second, the Orioles scored a run to trail 2-1. Malcolm (14) led off the inning with a walk, and proceeded to steal two bases to reach third. Simon (5) delivered a RBI single to bring Malcolm home.

Noah (15) of the Orioles went 2 for 2 at the dish, with one run scored and two stolen bases.

The Jays offense went right back to work in the bottom of the second as they scored four runs to stretch their lead to 6-1. Sajith (8) led off the inning with a single and stole second. Jacob followed with a hit. However, a throwing error by the O’s shortstop allowed Sajith to score and Jacob to move up to second.

Jack (1) singled and Felix (14) walked to load the bases. With one out, Sam hit a 2 RBI double that brought Jacob and Jack home. After Keegan walked to reload the bases, an Orioles error allowed Felix to motor home with the final run of the inning.

The Orioles fought back with four runs in the top of the third to trim the deficit to one. Keying the O’s rally was a clutch 2 RBI single by Clyde (10).

The Jays scored one run in the bottom of the third to widen their lead to 7-5. With one out, Mark (3) on third, and Chaewon (9) on first, the Jays executed the double steal to perfection as Mark came into score.

With the game on the line, the Orioles battled back in the top of the fourth with two runs to tie the game. Noah (15) led off the inning with a single and stole second. Noah came home on an O’s error.With one out, Leo (7) walked and stole two bases to reach third. An error by the Jays third baseman allowed Leo to trot home with the tying run.

It was at this point in the proceedings where Sam of the Jays came face to face with destiny in the bottom of the fourth.
