HAVE SOME FUN AS YOU TRY YOUR LUCK WITH THE PITCHING MACHINE IN SUPPORTING TP BASEBALL
The Toronto Playgrounds Baseball Committee is proud to present its first annual DERBY FOR DISTANCE fundraiser.
Have you ever wanted to try your luck against the pitching machine? We know you’re curious, so now is your chance!
Family, Friends, Coaches and Players of all ages are invited to join us on Saturday, September 22, from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. at Dominico Field at Christie Pits (a.k.a. Diamond 1).
Our goal is to have fun while raising funds for new equipment, benefitting our house league baseball operations in upcoming seasons.
Participants will be able to bat against the machine at 35, 50, 65 and 80 MPH! Batters will be grouped by age for the points contest… Under 10, 11-16 and 17+… plus a special category for Coaches!
Each batter will have the opportunity to hit ten pitches per at-bat.
Events Include:
- Competition for most batting points based on distance
- Contest for the participant with the best sports-related costume… and we encourage you to think outside the batters box!

Pitches will be priced as follows:
- $10 for 10 pitches
- $15 for 20 pitches
- $20 for 30 pitches
The rain date has been scheduled for Sunday, September 23.
