WITH THE PRE SEASON SPRING TRAINING SESSIONS BEGINNING IN TWO WEEKS, MEETINGS ARE SCHEDULED FOR APRIL 22 & 23 TO BRING OUR VOLUNTEER COACHES UP TO SPEED ON THE 2013 SEASON AHEAD
The TP Baseball Committee will be scheduling some meetings for our volunteer house league coaches over the next two weeks to help everyone prepare for the beginning of our 2013 season.
All the coaches meetings will be held at the Bob Abate Community and Recreation Centre located at 485 Montrose Avenue.
The schedule for the first coaches meeting is as follows:
- MONDAY, APRIL 22 > Mosquito and Peewee division coaches – 6:45 p.m. to 8:15 p.m. at the Bob Abate CRC
- TUESDAY, APRIL 23 > Tee Ball and Rookie Ball division coaches – 6:45 p.m. to 8:15 p.m. at the Bob Abate CRC
The purpose of these meetings will be to meet the other coaches in your division, to go over our expectations of you as coaches, to discuss our approach and philosophy, and to point out particular areas of interest and field any questions about what will be happening as we move forward into the season. The Committee will be sending all coaches some written material over the next few days that we would like you to read carefully so that we can discuss any questions or points arising from the material at our meetings.
At these meetings the Committee will also be asking you to tell us any days that you won’t be available during our pre-season practice schedule, which will begin on Saturday, May 4 and run until Thursday, May 16. During that time we are hoping to schedule three practices for every team during the Spring Training phase.
At the meetings, we will also be discussing some Practice Drills sessions for coaches that we will be organizing that will be scheduled for Saturday April 27, which is the first day of our House League Player Evaluation sessions for the Rookie Ball, Mosquito, and Peewee divisions. The second day, for players who can’t attend Saturday, will be Sunday, April 28.
There will then be another meeting that will take place on Tuesday, April 30 at the Bob Abate Community Recreation Centre. At this meeting you will meet the other people you will be coaching with and you will pick up copies of your roster and the pre-season practice schedule, which will begin on Saturday May 4 and run until Thursday May 16.
Here is the schedule for the second coaches meeting on Tuesday, April 30:
- Tee Ball and Rookie Ball division – 6:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. @ Bob Abate CRC
- Mosquito and Peewee divisions – 7:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. @ Bob Abate CRC
The TP House League Baseball regular season commences on Tuesday, May 21.
