Beneath warm and sunny skies, two tenacious Rookie Ball Division teams were kicking up a dust storm in their Season Opener this evening at Christie Pits Diamond 3.

In an offensive battle royale, the Cheetahs and Cougars hit the ball with ferocity and ran the basepaths with wild abandon over the course of three intense innings.

Much to the delight of the parents and fans in attendance, the runs kept coming across home plate like a well oiled slot machine when it hits the jackpot.

Kudos to Tyler (5) of the Cougars for hitting two home runs in two trips to the plate.

After the dust had finally settled, TP Umpire Joel Scott declared that the Cheetahs and Jaguars had played to a tie game. A fitting result for a well played game by both teams.

And in the end, a wonderful time was had by all.
