Beneath humid skies this evening at Dominico Field at Christie Pits, the Lizzies defeated the White Sox 16-8 in four innings of Bantam Division play.

The Lizzies offense was firing on all cylinders as every player in the lineup scored one run.

Evan (13) broke the game open in the second with a 2 run double to give the Lizzies an 8-2 advantage.

Here are the highlights:

  • The turning point in the game occurred in bottom of the first inning when Lizzies starting pitcher Jacob (6) worked out of a bases loaded jam with only two runs scored by the White Sox to preserve a 4-2 lead. Jacob induced an inning ending double-play whereby shortstop Victor (7) caught a soft liner and made the throw to second baseman Carlos (15) to catch the White Sox runner off the bag at second base.
  • Evan (13) broke the game open in the top of the second with a 2 RBI double to give the Lizzies an 8-2 advantage.
  • Ryan (9) of the Lizzies went 2 for 2 (both doubles) at the dish with 2 RBI’s and a run scored.
  • Victor (7) of the Lizzies went 2 for 2 with a walk, 2 runs scored and a RBI.
