Beneath very warm summer skies this evening at Christie Pits Diamond 2, the Gianizzinals defeated the Reds 12-2 in four innings of Mosquito Division play.
- In great sportsmanlike fashion, the Reds allowed the Giants to fill a depleted bench by using players from the Cardinals [Jeremy (7)] and Lizzies [Evan (1), Luke (5), Dean (7) and Max].
- Pitching for the Gianizzinals were Evan, Harris (15), Alex (13) and Lachlan (7).
- Catching for the Gianizzinals were Cameron and Lachlan (7).
- Ben pitched two workmanlike innings for the Reds.
- Alex (13) led the Gianizzinals offense with a triple and a double.
- Gianizzinals base hits were delivered by Harris, Lachlan, Dean, Evan, Luke and Cameron.
- Defensively, Gianizzinals catcher Cameron threw out a Reds base runner attempting to steal third with a great 5-3 throw to third baseman Dean, who deftly made the tag.
