On a blue skied sunny summer afternoon in Etobicoke, the Bloordale Bombers defeated our TP Minor Peewee Selects 15-3 in a 3 ½ inning TBA West Select Loop Peewee round robin playoff showdown.

Here are the highlights:

  • After Bloordale had jumped out in front 10-0 after two innings, Toronto Playgrounds rallied for three runs in the top of the third to trim the deficit to seven. Keying the Minor Peewee offense was a RBI single by Zack (32) and a two RBI double by Max (17).
  • The Bombers answered with five runs in the bottom of the third to salt the game away.

Under the double knockout rules of the TBA Peewee Championship Tournament, the Toronto Playgrounds Minor Peewee Selects (1-2) second playoff game loss has resulted in their elimination from further play in the tourney.

Despite coming up short in the TBA’s playoffs, our Minor Peewees had a fun filled 3-7-2 regular season as well as a great experience participating in three tournaments in Oakville, Georgetown and Vaughan during the course of the season.

The TP Baseball Committee wishes to commend Minor Peewee Select Head Coach Mike Pett, Assistant Coaches Brian Herman, Jonathan Stein and Michael Gödel for guiding such a talented group of players to great moments of success during the 2013 campaign.

The Committee also wishes to congratulate all the Minor Peewee Select players, coaches and parents for representing the core values of the Toronto Playgrounds Baseball program with honour, dignity and professionalism on and off the diamond throughout the lengthy course of the 2013 season.

You did us proud. Way to go, TP!
