On a beautiful night for baseball at Christie Pits Diamond 2, the Cubs defeated the Giants 12-10 over four innings in a Mosquito Division game lasting two plus hours.

The Cubs were firing on all cylinders and jumped out to an early four run lead in the first on a series of walks and wild pitches.

Cubs starter Alexander (2) pitched a scoreless bottom of the first with 2 Ks and an unassisted putout at first.

In the top of the second, Giant pitchers continued to struggle with their control and allowed another four runs on a series of walks and wild pitches.

Meanwhile, Cubs reliever Elliot (1) pitched a scoreless inning with one strikeout while getting some defensive help in the field.  Cubs catcher Nick (14) threw out a Giant runner attempting to steal third.

The Cubs were held scoreless in the top of the third by a hard throwing Giants reliever who threw three strikeouts.

Cubbies reliever Javert (6) allowed two runs on five walks in the bottom of the third. Javert pitched his way out of a bases loaded jam with two strikeouts. Cubs catcher Alexander executed another excellent throw out of a Giants runner attempting to steal third.

The Cubs bats continued to pulsate in the top of the fourth with another four runs crossing the plate on a RBI triple by Alexander and a mojo jojo bases loaded three RBI triple by slugger Nick (who cleared the bases after three consecutive singles by Isaih (10), Javert and Han (12) juiced the bases).

The Cubs took a ten run lead into the bottom of the fourth as the Giants clawed their way back into the proceedings on seven walks and an error before Cubs closer Javert found the groove to close things down by getting a Giants runner at home on a come backer to the mound, striking one out, and finally ending the night catching a bases loaded pop up.

A very dramatic finish to a long night of TP Mosquito Division Baseball.
