The Toronto Playgrounds Baseball Committee has announced that the Bantam and Midget Division House League games on Monday, July 28 have been rescheduled to Tuesday, July 29.

The scheduling revision was made necessary because the Intercounty Baseball League (IBL) Toronto Maple Leafs will be playing a rained out game on Monday evening at Dominico Field at Christie Pits (a.k.a. Diamond 1) to complete their regular season schedule before beginning their IBL playoffs later this week.

The Committee has been able to arrange the use of Dominico Field (Diamond 1) on Tuesday, July 29, so we will be moving our Bantam and Midget games to that night.

Here is the revised Bantam & Midget Division Schedule for Tuesday, July 29:

  • 6:00 p.m. > BANTAM: White Sox @ Expos [Dominico Field]
  • 8:00 p.m. > MIDGET: Homesteads @ Lizzies [Dominico Field]

The Committee apologizes in advance for any inconvenience this may cause. However, the reality of baseball life at Christie Pits is that we sometimes have to be flexible to accommodate the Intercounty Maple Leafs in terms of late season and playoff dates. We decided to move our games to the next night because we’re sure to not be bumped by the Leafs that night so we know we’ll get the games in for our players.

Thank you in advance for your understanding and again we apologize for any inconvenience this situation creates.

And as we veer full speed into the dog days of summer, any interested players from the A’s are invited to come out to possibly get in the rescheduled Bantam game on Tuesday as well.
