With the final elimination games completed last night, the pairings for the semi-final phase of the 2014 Etobicoke Baseball Association (EBA) Peewee Select Championship Playoff Tournament were determined.

Our Toronto Playgrounds Major Peewee Selects (2-1) will battle the Bloordale (1) Bombers (2-1) this morning in an 11:15 a.m. semi-final game at Millwood Park.

The Martingrove White Sox (3-0) will face off against the Annette A’s (2-1) in the other semi-final match up at 9:00 a.m. at Millwood Park.

Each of the four teams remaining in the EBA Peewee Select Championship Tournament are working under a double knockout playoff formula, whereby a team has to lose two games in order to be eliminated. Should a team reach the final round undefeated, they will have to lose twice to be eliminated.

After a 6-5 loss to the Weston Wolverines on Friday evening to open the playoff tournament put them on the ropes, Toronto Playgrounds rebounded with grit and determination to win a pair of must win games on Saturday to earn a bye into the EBA Peewee Select semi-final round.

Taking no prisoners, TP steamrolled over the Bloordale (2) Bombers 22-3 in an early Saturday tilt. In the afternoon affair, the Major Peewees defeathered the Royal York (1) Cardinals 23-2.

The entire Toronto Playgrounds Baseball family wishes our TP Major Peewee Selects players and coaches continued success at Sunday’s final playoff rounds at the EBA Peewee Select Championship.

GO! TP! GO!
