Beneath overcast and windy skies, the Cubs defeated the Mets 8-6 in three innings of Mosquito Division action this evening at Christie Pits Diamond 2.

Here are the highlights:

  • The Cubs fielded a team of six regulars [Han (12), Javert (6) , Isaiah (10), Nick (14), Cameron (7) and Anders (8)] plus one call up [Gen].
  • With nearly a full squad, the Mets generously loaned the Cubs some outfielders during the proceedings so the game could be played in a more equitable fashion.
  • Cubs pitchers Isaiah (10), Javert (6) and Nick (14) put in a workmanlike effort against the Metropolitans over the course of three frames.
  • Trailing 5-3, the Cubbies rallied for five in the third to take an 8-5 lead and hung on for an 8-6 comeback victory.
  •  It was a great game and everyone played really well.
