IN A BATTLE ROYALE, THE MIGHTY GIANTS TAME THE ARTFUL DODGERS TO EARN THE SWEET VICTORY AT CHRISTIE PITS
Beneath a layer of sunny and humid skies, the Giants defeated the Dodgers 12-10 in 3 ½ innings of Mosquito Division play this evening at Christie Pits Diamond 3.
DODGERS GAME SUMMARY by Tracy Franklin.
The Dodgers played some great baseball against the Giants this evening.
Avi (8) started us off with a single that soared into centre field. Sota followed suit with a beautiful line drive for a one bagger. Taras (15) made it to first with a good eye at the plate. Cooper (7) and Lachlan (9) smashed the ball for a couple singles to move the runners around and Alejandro (3) ended the inning with a triple, earning 2 RBI’s.
On the field, the Artful Dodgers had awesome pitching from Taras (15), Charlie (5), Lachlan (9) and Alejandro (3).
Highlights for the Dodgers included a stellar double play by Sota after catching a major league pop fly and nabbing a base runner. Later in the game, Cooper snagged the ball at third for a well executed force play to get the runner out.
In the second inning, Avi, Charlie, Sota, Taras, and Cooper all showed patience at the plate for a walk down to first. Lachlan and Alejandro hit a pair of singles while Avi ended the inning by knocking in a couple runs with a solid double.
The Dodgers third inning was a challenge, but Charlie managed to get on base with some patience at the plate.
The fourth inning started with a blast of power from Lachlin for a double. Avi, Sota and Taras all managed to get a walk down to first.
Although the Dodgers lost the game, they played like a team and fought till the end.
