Under a blanket of warm and humid skies, the Orioles and Royals played to a 6-6 draw in three thrilling innings of Mosquito Division action this evening at Trinity-Bellwoods Park Diamond 2.

Here is a Royals account of the proceedings:

  • In amazing kickoff to the Mosquito Division regular season, the Royals and Orioles played a very tight three inning game.
  • The Royals received some solid pitching from Johnathan, Samuel, Eli (reliever in the second), and Bailey.
  • With regards to the Royals D, there was good work in the infield, good ball coverage and some solid outs to first and second base.
  • The Royals received great hits from Henry (3), Finn (2), Simon (10) and Harrison (4) and Cal.
  • Great hits for pop outs from Eli and Bailey (5) of the Royals.
  • Trailing 6-4 going into the bottom of the third, it was the last at bats for the Royals. Despite some very good pitching from the Orioles bullpen, the never say die Royals rose to the occasion and began to stage a comeback rally.
  • A daring steal of home from Cal with two outs cut the deficit to one!!!
  • Then Simon (10) came home to roost with the Royals tying run to make the game 6-6 !!!!!!!
  • The Royals can’t wait for next week game versus the Rays!!!
