IN A NAIL BITER, THE HALOS PREVAIL OVER THE O’s FOR THE VICTORY AT TRINITY-BELLWOODS PARK

Game Summary edited with file from Michael Goldsmith

Beneath a tranquil blanket of summer skies, the Angels edged the Orioles 8-7 in four thrilling innings of Mosquito Division action this evening at Trinity-Bellwoods Park Diamond 2.

Here is an Angels summary of the proceedings:

  • A packed house in attendance at Trinity Bellwoods Park caught a closely contested game between Orioles and Angels.
  • With the game deadlocked 7-7, the Angels prevailed in the bottom of the fourth on a bases loaded ?walk issued to Halos lead off batter Jacob. Kudos to Jacob, who remained in the game and toughed it out after being hit in the neck with a pitch during his previous at bat.
  • In a particularly solid pitching effort, Angels reliever Elliot struck out the side in the top of the fourth to keep his team in the game.
  • Halos pitcher James made a strong debut on the mound.
  • Angels pitchers Devon and Liam also contributed some nice innings to the victory.
  • Catchers Evan, Dante and Lucky were sound behind the plate all evening for the Angels.
  • Dante made the Angels defensive play of the night from third when he made a great throw to just beat the Orioles baserunner.
  • The Angels were patient at the dish and efficient on the base paths with Nikhil, Lucky and Dante all chipping in with hits.
