TORONTO PLAYGROUNDS REMAINS UNDEFEATED AFTER SATURDAY DOUBLEHEADER VERSUS BLOORDALE AT MILLWOOD PARK

TP Mosquito Select reliever Tavaris (55) entered the game with the bases loaded and surrendered only a single run to Bloordale. Tavaris chalked up three outs in the sixth inning to preserve the 5-5 tie in  Game 2 of the EBA Select doubleheader at Millwood Park.

Beneath a serene ceiling of warm summer skies, our Toronto Playgrounds Mosquito Selects played an Etobicoke Baseball Association (EBA) Select doubleheader this morning against the Bloordale Green at Millwood Park Diamond 2.

As the home team in Game 1, TP prevailed 11-7 over Bloordale in six innings of play. In the second game of the double bill, TP (as the road team) played to a 5-5 draw in six innings of action against the Green.

Here are some highlights:

  • It was a total team effort in Game 1 of the doubleheader. TP came out hitting the ball hard and running the bases with determination.
  • After building a 7-1 lead, TP did not look back in the rear view mirror.
  • The Mosquito Selects defense was superb versus the
  • TP was victimized by squibblers and poorly timed walks on Bloordale’s seven runs.
  • Theo (17) made a diving catch to steal a run scoring hit by the Green
  • TP starter Charlie (7) pitched 3.1 innings in Game 2 while giving up only a single run to Bloordale.
  • TP reliever Tavaris (55) entered the fray with with the bases loaded and only gave up a single run, while getting three outs and preserving the tie in the sixth inning of Game 2.

There’s just no rest for the TP Mosquito Selects [6-0-1] on the EBA Select circuit during the Canada Day long weekend as they play host to the Royal York Cardinals tomorrow (Sunday, July 3) evening at Christie Pits Diamond 2 at 6:00 p.m.
