Under a blanket of warm midsummer skies, the Giants defeated the Expos 8-3 in four innings of Peewee Division play this evening at Dovercourt Park.

Here is a Giants account of the proceedings:

  • The Giants and Expos game at Dovercourt Park was a rematch of the Peewee Division season opener – which the Giants lost.
  • Oliver (12) circled the bases on a few Expos errors in the third.
  • Both Ben (11) and Javert (3) had ‘legitimate’ home runs to power the Mighty Giants offense. While it was Ben’s first homer of the season, Javert’s blast was his third HR of the 2016 season!
  • Ben had 3 RBI’s in his return to the Giants lineup after a month-long absence.
  • PJ (2) walked three times in three at-bats to burst out of a slump.
  • Giants hurler Max (10) pitched himself out of a jam in the second inning – walking the leadoff batter and having him reach third base – but not allowing him to score.
  • Firing on octane, the Giants scored the maximum four runs allowed in the second and third – but no runs in the first and fourth
  • With the Expos roster shorthanded, they had to use a few Mosquito Division call ups to fill up their lineup.

Here is an Expos log of the game:

  • Giants topped the Expos 8-3.
  • Pitching for the Expos were Charlie, Theo and Daniel.
  • Catchers Vince, Charlie and Theo.
  • JUAN made and outstanding grab at 2nd.
  • Thanks to Mosquito Division call ups Theo, Christian and Vince for joining the shorthanded Expos lineup.
  • Umpires were outstanding!
