Mosquito & Peewee Division Baseball Skill Clinics on July 23 & 24

WEEKEND CLINICS AT CHRISTIE PITS OPEN TO PLAYERS IN OUR HOUSE LEAGUE MOSQUITO AND PEEWEE AGE CLASSIFICATIONS

SONY DSCThe Toronto Playgrounds House League Baseball Committee will be organizing some clinics for our Mosquito (2005-2006) and Peewee Division (2003-2004) players for this coming weekend. These clinics are intended for house league players not involved in our select program, as an opportunity to enhance their skills further.

On Saturday, July 23, there will be a Fielding/Throwing clinic taking place from 9:30 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. Players will be divided into age groups (Mosquito and Peewee) and then into three smaller groups, and will go through a set of stations featuring drills to work on infield play, throwing and receiving techniques, and outfield play. Interested players should arrive at Christie Pits by 9:15 a.m. to stretch and warm up.

On Sunday, July 24, there will be Batting Practice sessions organized at Christie Pits Diamond 3. Participating players will be hitting pitches from the pitching machine. Sessions will be organized by division, and the times for the sessions on Sunday are:

  • Mosquito Division players: 9:00 a.m. to 10:30 a.m.
  • Peewee Division players: 10:30 a.m. to 12:00 noon

Players will check in upon arrival and spend some time fielding for other batters before taking their turn. Players will be given approximately thirty pitches to hit. House League personnel will be on hand to give instructions/advice regarding the batting.

Players can obviously come to either both of these clinics or only one.

Coaches, if any of you are planning on attending and would like to assist with running the clinic activities, please let us know via email.
