TAKING NO PRISONERS, TORONTO PLAYGROUNDS BURY THE ATHLETICS AT CHRISTIE PITS TO WIN THEIR SEVENTH EBA SELECT GAMEBeneath a blanket of warm and hazy midsummer skies, our Toronto Playgrounds Rookie Ball Selects defeated the Annette A’s 18-2 in 4 ½ innings of Etobicoke Baseball Association (EBA) Select action this evening at Christie Pits Diamond 3 to win their seventh game of the season and remain undefeated.
Firing on all cylinders, TP unleashed a twenty-nine hit barrage [25 singles & four doubles] over the course of four frames to bury the A’s. Going for the jugular, TP sent twelve batters to the dish in the bottom of the second to widen their advantage to 14-0. After consecutive singles by Markus (29), Charlie (6) and Dylan loaded the bases, Emmett stroked a one out 2 RBI single to bring Markus and Charlie home to rock ‘n’ roll.

Annette would generate three singles in the top of the fourth. However, the A’s offense would sputter once again with nothing to show on the scoring ledger.
In the bottom of the fourth, TP would tally four insurance runs to widen their lead to 18-0. Following a lead off double by Jordan, Sam would stroke a single to put two mallards on the lake. Desmond would crank a RBI double to bring Jordan home to do the Gangnam Style dance.
