Under a ceiling of warm and hazy midsummer skies, our Toronto Playgrounds Mosquito Selects defeated the Bloordale Gold 19-3 in six innings of Etobicoke Baseball Association (EBA) Select action this evening at Millwood Park to win their ninth game of the season and remain undefeated.
Here are the highlights:
- After surrendering three runs in the first, TP pitchers Solly (27), Cooper (2), Tavaris (55), Ezra (14) and Charlie (7) combined to throw five shutout innings the rest of the way, as the bats did the rest of the work.
- The TP offense was led by Noah (23), who went 3 for 4 at the plate with two home runs.
- Solly also powered a towering homer to tally his third HR of the season.
- With only two regular season games left before the playoffs, TP remains undefeated in the EBA Select loop.
The TP Mosquito Selects [9-0-1] will play their next EBA Select game on Sunday (August 7) evening at Christie Pits Diamond 2 when they play host to the Martingrove White Sox at 6:00 p.m.
