OPENINGS STILL AVAILABLE…SIGN UP NOW FOR OUR INDOOR BASEBALL SKILLS CLASSES AT GIVINS-SHAW PUBLIC SCHOOL

SONY DSCRegistrations are continuing to being accepted for the winter and spring sessions of the 2017 Toronto Playgrounds House League Baseball Academy.

After the huge success of the pilot Academy program last fall, the TP House League Baseball Committee is very excited to be moving forward with this new undertaking by our league. The Academy is an on-going indoor skills and drills class, made up of weekly sessions that are ninety minutes long. Each week’s session will focus on specific baseball skills and activities. Participants will be able to enjoy even more baseball while enhancing their skills and building increased self-confidence in their baseball abilities.

Program

The Baseball Academy features ninety-minute long weekly indoor skills and drills classes. Each week’s class will focus on specific baseball skills and activities. Participants will be able to enjoy even more baseball while enhancing their skills and building increased self-confidence in their baseball abilities.

Location

The Winter/Spring 2017 Baseball Academy sessions will take place in the gym of Givins Shaw Public School (49 Givins St. near the corner of Queen St. and Shaw St.).

Registration Fee

The fee for a Winter & Spring 2017 Baseball Academy four-week session is $60.00. This includes the classes and a Baseball Academy tee shirt for each participant.

Registration Process

On the registration form you will indicate your first choice of session…the class your child/children will be in will be determined by their age. You will also rank as many other sessions as you’d like in order to be placed on the waiting list for those sessions. We are wanting to give as many interested players as possible the opportunity of attending one of the Baseball Academy sessions, so initially everyone registering will be placed in only one session….it will be your first choice unless that session has already filled up by the time we receive your registration form, in which case it will be your second choice (or third if the second choice has also filled up, etc.). If there are spaces available in any of the four remaining sessions, then we will start to offer those spaces to people on the waiting lists who are already registered for one session.

Spaces are limited for each session, so if you are interested in signing up for one of our Winter/Spring 2017 Toronto Playgrounds House League Baseball Academy sessions, please complete and return the registration form as soon as possible. Forms can be scanned and emailed to tpbaseball@gmail.com  FAXed to 416-588-4197, or mailed to or dropped off at the Bob Abate Community and Recreation Centre (485 Montrose Avenue, Toronto, Ontario M6G 3H2). Registration forms have been emailed to everyone on our mailing lists.

Payment Process

When you send in your registration form for the Baseball Academy do not send a payment. We are making this unusual request because we are moving to an online registration and payment system for our house league and all of our other activities. We are planning on launching the new online system on January 30, 2017.

If you register in Session 3, 4, 5 or 6, we will be confirming with you that you have a space but we will ask you to wait to make payment until our online system is operational (at that point you will also register for the Academy on-line). Don’t worry….once we confirm with you that you have a space in Baseball Academy session 3, 4, 5, or 6 you will not lose it…we are just wanting to use Baseball Academy sessions 3 to 6 as the launch of our on-line registration/payment system.

If you have any questions, please contact us at tpbaseball@gmail.com.
