SELECT > Royal York Boys Top TP Peewee Selects 12-8

THE CARDINALS PREVAIL OVER TORONTO PLAYGROUNDS AT CONNORVALE PARK

In a good foray on the hill, TP reliever Luca (12) kept the score close to give his team an opportunity to dig themselves out of an early hole.

Beneath a thick as green pea ceiling of hot and humid skies, the Royal York Boys defeated the Toronto Playgrounds Peewee Selects 12-8 in 3 ½ innings of Etobicoke Baseball Association (EBA) Peewee Select Loop action this evening at Connorvale Park.

Here is a brief summary of the proceedings courtesy of Andy Marcus:

  • With TP committing a few mental errors in the field and on the bases in the early going, Royal York jumped out to an early 7-1 lead after the first inning.
  • However, with some perseverance, TP regrouped and had much better at bats the rest of the game.
  • TP clawed its way back over the next couple innings to close the margin to 12-8 against a solid Royal York team, that picked up its fifth victory of the season.
  • In a good effort on the hill, TP reliever Luca (12) kept the score close, while the TP bats improved as it went through the order a second time against the Cardinals bullpen.
  • But in the end, TP fell a little short. The game was just another building block as the TP Peewee Selects get ready for the EBA playoffs.

The TP Peewee Selects continue their road swing on the EBA circuit next Wednesday (July 11) when they venture to Ravina Gardens to battle the Annette A’s at 6:00 p.m.
