SELECT > TP Peewee Selects Go Down Swinging at 2018 EBA Peewee Select Championship Tournament

WITH A PAIR OF LOSSES TO ANNETTE AND BLOORDALE, TORONTO PLAYGROUNDS PLAYOFF JOURNEY AT THE TOURNEY COMES TO AN END AT MILLWOOD PARK

Under a ceiling of picturesque summer skies, the Toronto Playgrounds Peewee Selects journey at the 2018 Etobicoke Baseball Association (EBA) Peewee Select Championship Tournament came to end this morning at Millwood Park in Etobicoke.

Each team participating in the EBA Peewee Select playoff tourney is working under the double knockout formula, whereby a team is eliminated from further contention once they have lost two playoff elimination games.

TP opened the tourney on Friday afternoon with a 10-0 round robin playoff game loss to the Annette A’s in a four inning affair at Millwood Park.

Early this morning, the Bloordale Green defeated TP 30-4 in their second round robin playoff game at Millwood Park.

With the pair of losses, Toronto Playgrounds (0-2) is officially eliminated from further playoff tournament play.

Despite a 2-13 regular season record and an early exit from the loop playoffs, the TP Peewee Selects nevertheless had a fun filled season of baseball during the 2018 EBA Select season.

In addition, the TP Peewee Selects had a great time at the Milton Tournament back in early June.

The TP Baseball Committee wishes to thank Peewee Select Head Coach Andy Marcus; Assistant Coaches Giancarlo Brogno and Danny Castricone for their fortitude and patience in steering these talented Peewee Selects through the highs and lows of a fun 2018 season. And special kudos to General Manager Sharon Gazeley and Erin Mitchell for stepping up to the plate to support the team this season.

The Committee also wishes to commend all the Peewee Select players, coaches and parents for representing the core values of the Toronto Playgrounds Baseball program with honour, dignity and professionalism both on and off the diamond at the tournament and throughout the long 2018 season.

WAY TO GO, TP!
