Beneath a tranquil ceiling of warm September skies, the Rangers edged the Mariners 5-4 in a riveting six inning Toronto Playgrounds House League Baseball Mosquito Division elimination round playoff game this evening at Christie Pits Diamond 3.
With the game deadlocked 4-4 after five innings, the nail biting proceeding was a well played thriller which necessitated an extra inning to determine its outcome.
With leadoff batter Rohan (9) on base, Colin (10) delivered a key one out RBI hit in the top of the sixth that brought Rohan home with the Rangers go ahead run.
Rangers reliever Ash (7) entered the fray in the bottom half of the sixth to chalk up a strikeout and a pair of groundouts to seal the deal on the victory.
The Rangers will now advance into the Mosquito Division Semi-Final elimination round, where they’ll face the Orioles on Wednesday (September 12) evening at Christie Pits Diamond 2 at 5:45 p.m.
