UPDATED on March 18, 2019.

Toronto Playgrounds House League Baseball will be hosting its sixth consecutive Toronto Blue Jays Baseball Academy Instructional Clinic powered by Honda on Sunday, May 5 at Christie Pits (750 Bloor Street West) for all interested players aged 8* to 12. (*Any participants born in 2011 and are turning 8 in 2019 can sign up for the clinic.)

Participants partaking in the clinic are taught exclusively by Blue Jays Baseball Academy instructors. Academy instructors are NCCP (National Coaching Certification Program) registered, experienced coaches, who have been trained in the “Blue Jays Way” of teaching baseball to youth. Many instructors have been with the Blue Jays Baseball Academy for several years, facilitating clinics and camps when they aren’t teaching baseball in their own communities. The instructors will teach young players (both male and female) all the necessary and fundamental skills one should know about baseball in a fun and structured atmosphere.

Each clinic will be four hours in length. During the clinic, players will rotate through drills that will deal with skills such as: hitting, throwing, fielding, pitching and base running. Prior to the start of the clinic, coaches and parents are welcome to join instructors on the field to observe drills, ask instructors questions, and enhance their learning.

Each registered clinic attendee should bring their glove, bat, helmet, appropriate clothing, along with a drink and snacks. We recommend that you arrive 20-30 minutes before the clinic begins in order to check in at our registration table.

The fee for the clinic is $55.00 (plus H.S.T.) per participant. The instructional sessions will commence at 9:00 a.m. sharp and run until 1:00 p.m. All registered players will also receive a free Blue Jays hat, tee shirt and baseball manual for participating in the clinic.

2019 TORONTO BLUE JAYS HONDA INSTRUCTIONAL CLINIC REGISTRATION FORM

This spring, the Blue Jays Baseball Academy will host two girls-only Instructional Clinics powered by Honda. Please click on the following for dates and times.

Registrants for the clinic are advised that the Blue Jays will be processing all registrations and payments for the event.

All registered participants will receive a confirmation email after registering for the clinic. An information email about the clinic will be sent out roughly a week prior to the clinic date and will contain details about the clinic including when to arrive, what to bring and details on an alternative facility in the event of rain or unplayable field conditions. Receipts will be emailed to participants at least two weeks before the clinic date.

The Blue Jays are keenly aware of the need for local associations (like Toronto Playgrounds House League Baseball) to raise funds to offset some of the rising costs they are experiencing. Therefore, TP Baseball will receive $25 per participant (after the first 25 registrations) for hosting the instructional clinic.

Not only are the Instructional Clinics an excellent fundraising opportunity for local baseball associations, these clinics will also compliment the local association’s player development program. It’s a win win event for everyone involved.

A full refund, less a $10 administration fee, will be granted if registration is cancelled at least 48 hours prior to clinic date. Any cancellations within 48 hours of the clinic will not receive a refund.

For any questions about the Honda Instructional Clinic in your area, please contact the Blue Jays Academy at 416-341-2500 or via email at baseball.academy@bluejays.com.
