A FREE BARBECUE LUNCH FOR PLAYERS AND COACHES PARTICIPATING IN OUR END OF SEASON ‘SEPTEMBER MADNESS’ TOURNEY IS ON DECK FOR THIS SATURDAY AT CHRISTIE PITS
The Toronto Playgrounds Baseball Committee has released the lunch schedule for the teams participating in our end of season 2019 “September Madness’ Tournament.
The BBQ lunch for all of our participating players and coaches will take place on Saturday, September 7 at Christie Pits. Each player and coach will receive a free lunch consisting of a hot dog (meat or veggie), bag of chips, and a juice box.
Food and drinks will also be available for sale at our TP Baseball BBQ Zone to parents, siblings, family and friends.
Here are the ‘September Madness’ Divisional Team Lunch Schedules:
Mosquito Division BBQ Schedule
Many of the Mosquito teams will get their food tomorrow after they play a game at Christie Pits. In those cases, a volunteer from our “BBQ Crew” will be coming around to the dugouts during your game to get your team order….they’ll need to know how many players and coaches are there, and how many people want meat or veggie hot dogs. Then, after your game, the team should find somewhere to sit together near diamond 3 and have one or two coaches or other parents come to the BBQ to collect the team order. The hot dogs, bags of chips and juice boxes will be organized to be taken back to the team.
Some other Mosquito teams, however, are scheduled for their team to get their food after a morning game at the Bickford South diamond (they are indicated on the schedule). Whichever players would like to come over to Christie for their food at the time on the schedule should meet together beside diamond 3 (closest to the BBQ). A coach or other parent should then organize the order by getting the number of coaches and players and a count of how many want meat and veggie hot dogs. That coach or other parent should then go to the BBQ table and give the order and team name to one of the crew. Someone will then let you know when the team order is ready to pick up.
Mosquito Division teams coming to Christie Pits from a game at Bickford South (marked as *) should meet beside Diamond 3 upon arriving so that coaches/parents can organize a team order.
9:45 am: Jays, Astros
10:00 am: White Sox*, Expos*
11:45 am: Twins, Rays, Royals*, Lizzies*
1:00 pm: Mariners*, A’s*
1:30 pm: Yankees, Tigers
3:00 pm: Angels, Red Sox
Peewee Division BBQ Schedule
Five Peewee teams will get their food tomorrow after they play a game at Christie Pits. In those cases, a volunteer from our “BBQ Crew” will be coming around to the dugouts during your game to get your team order….they’ll need to know how many players and coaches are there, and how many people want meat or veggie hot dogs. The other five Peewee teams (which are indicated on the schedule) are scheduled for their team to get their food before their game at Christie Pits. Bantam and Varsity Divisions BBQ Schedule
(A) means a team is eating after their game, and (B) means they’re meeting their coaches before their game to eat.

12:45 pm: Homesteads, Crawfords (B)
1:45 pm: Eagles, Buckeyes (A)
2:45 pm: Monarchs (B)
3:45 pm: Stars (B)
In addition, our photographer will be at Christie Pits on Saturday taking photos of any players who didn’t get an individual photo taken earlier in the season.
