MOSQUITO DIVISION (2009 and 2010)

For the 2020 season, the Mosquito Division is intended for players born in 2009 and 2010. As was the case last season, in 2020, the Mosquito Division will take place on Mondays and Wednesdays. So, Mondays and Wednesdays are the days each week that Mosquito players will need to commit to in order to participate in House League…again, the same as last season.
What is different from last season though, is that while there will be Mosquito House League every Monday and also every second Wednesday, each team will play some games on Mondays and some games on Wednesdays (alternating each week). Practices will always be on Mondays. All teams will have a game every week and a practice every second week. The teams in the Mosquito division will be divided into two groups, and each team will play all of the other teams in their group (but not teams in the other group). Teams from the two groups will play each other during the End-of-Season House League tournament in September (a.k.a. “September Madness”).
So, on the weeks that a team has a practice, their practice will be on Monday and their game will be on Wednesday. On the weeks when that team doesn’t have a practice, their game will be on Monday.

Games and practices in the Mosquito Division will take place at a number of diamonds in the community……Christie Pits Diamonds 2 and 3, the Dovercourt Park Diamond, and Trinity-Bellwoods Park Diamond 2. Each team will play and practice at all of these diamonds during the season. The start times for the games and practices in the Mosquito Division will range from 5:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m., with each team playing and practicing at all of these times during the season. Games will run from 1.5 hours to 1.75 hours, and practices will run for 1.5 hours.
• During the 2020 season, all Mosquito Division House League teams will have scheduled access to the inflatable batting cages which Toronto Playgrounds House League Baseball has purchased. This access will be incorporated into their regular practice schedule, as well as some additional times that may be scheduled on weekends.
• There will be evaluation sessions arranged for players registered in the Mosquito Division. The purpose of these sessions is to give us as good a measure as possible of the skill level of our players, so that we can make our houseleague teams as fair and balanced as possible. These Mosquito Division player evaluation sessions will take place sometime in late April. Parents will be contacted in early April as to the dates, times, and location of these sessions.
• The preseason will run from late April/beginning of May to Thursday, May 14. There will be two or three scheduled team practices during the preseason schedule. We will also be running weekend clinics in May and June so the Mosquito Division players can further develop their skills. The Mosquito Division regular season will commence the week of May 18 and will wrap up in mid-September at the conclusion of our end of season “September Madness” tournament.

PEEWEE DIVISION (2007 and 2008)

For the 2020 season, the Peewee Division is intended for players born in 2007 and 2008. As was the case last season, in 2020, the Peewee Division will take place on Tuesdays and Thursdays. So, Tuesdays and Thursdays are the days each week that Peewee players will need to commit to in order to participate in House League…again, the same as last season.

Games and practices in the Peewee Division will take place at a number of diamonds in the community……Christie Pits Diamond 2, the Dovercourt Park Diamond, and Trinity-Bellwoods Park Diamond 2. Each team will play and/or practice at a number of these diamonds during the season. The start times for the games and practices in the Peewee Division will range from 5:30 p.m. to 8:00 p.m., with each team playing/practicing at each of these times during the season. Games will run from 1.5 hours to 1.75 hours, and practices will run for 1.5 hours.

For the 2020 season, the Bantam Division is intended for players born in 2005 and 2006, and the Varsity Division is intended for players born in 2002, 2003, and 2004.

There will be one Bantam Division and one Varsity Division, but since there is only one available diamond with a pitching mound, there will be Bantam and Varsity games played on more than one day each week. The day on which there will always be a Bantam game and a Varsity game scheduled is Tuesday. On most weeks, the second Bantam and Varsity games will be played on Wednesday. Some weeks the second Bantam and Varsity games will be played on Saturday afternoon.

•On Tuesdays and on Wednesdays, the Bantam Division game will start at 6:00 p.m. and the Varsity Division game will start at 8:00 p.m. On Saturdays, the Bantam game will start at 1:15 p.m. and the Varsity game will start at 3:15 p.m. All Bantam and Varsity division games will be played at Christie Pits Diamond 1 (a.k.a. Dominico Field).  If there are four teams in each division, which is our expectation, each team will play once each week. If there are three teams in a division then one team will play twice each week.

•We will be announcing the practice times and days for the Bantam and Varsity House League divisions by the end of April. Some practices will be at Christie Pits Diamond 1, and some will be at other diamonds.

•There will be evaluation sessions arranged for players registered in the Bantam and Varsity divisions.
