Beneath a thick broth of hot and humid midsummer skies, the Angels prevailed 10-9 over the Twins in four thrilling innings Mosquito Division action this evening at Trinity-Bellwoods Park Diamond 2.

Here is an Angels account of the proceedings:

  • Undoubtedly, the Angels had one of their most entertaining games of late on a hot and muggy evening in Trinity Bellwoods, with baseball fans that included the park regulars watching excitedly. With the Halos trailing 9 to 5 to the Twins, these lucky baseball fans saw the Angels make an amazing comeback with two outs in the fourth inning. It was grand battle to behold as the talented Twins utilized a dynamic combination of good pitching and steady defense to keep the gritty Angels in check for most of the game.
  • With one out in the bottom of the fourth, both Elliot (13) and Alex (3) brought their respective counts to 3-2 by fouling off a few pitches before garnering well earned walks to put two runners on base.
  • Subsequently, with two outs and needing four runs to tie and five to win, the Halos donned their red shoes and queued up the comeback rally!
  • Facing a rough and tough Twins closer, each of the next six Angels batters battled tooth and nail in each of their at bats- fouling off many pitches – but eventually getting four consecutive singles to tie the game at 9-9. With the bases loaded, Alex (3) earned a RBI walk to bring in the Halos winning run.
  • The Angels’ six batters before Alex included, Andre (11) [earning a walk] and then the batters who garnered hits, Jonas (9), Nikhil (5), Zach (14), [who get out at the start of the inning], and Elliott (13) all singling back to back to back to back!!!!
  • The Angels got strong pitching efforts from Jakob (15), Jonas (9), Zach and Rorden (2). Meanwhile Andre (11) caught them all behind the plate with a couple of throw-outs of the would be steals by the Twins baserunners at second and third base.
