Mosquito Monday: Pirates Rally To Usurp Lizzies 8-7

THE BUCS FIGHT BACK FROM A THREE RUN DEFICIT  TO WRESTLE THE TREASURE OF VICTORY AWAY FROM MOSQUITO DIVISION RIVAL

Super Arms! Left to right: Nico (5) of the Lizzies strikes out one and holds the Pirates scoreless in the bottom of the first inning; Eden (3) of the Pirates pitches two stellar innings versus the Lizzies.

The Pirates rallied from a three run deficit in the bottom of the third inning for an 8-7 victory over the Lizzies in four innings of play at Christie Pits Diamond # 2.

The Pirates were the victims of  an early offensive outburst from the Lizzies. However, a stellar two inning pitching effort from Pirates Eden G. M. (3) saved the day. Eden limited the Lizzies offense to only one run as he struck out three batters. His ability to neutralize the Lizzies potent batting lineup allowed the Pirates to rally for the victory.

Eden also slammed the door on any potential Lizzies rally in the top of the fourth inning by making two super defensive plays. His  first catch off a popup led to a double play when he threw to second base to double up a wayward Lizzies baserunner. His final grab off another pop up ended the game.
