Mosquito Thursdays: Giants Top Dodgers 5-2 in a Pitchers Duel


RUNS AT A PREMIUM IN WELL PITCHED GAME BY BOTH TEAMS

Pierce (13) of the Dodgers strikes out three Giants and allows only one run in the bottom of the second inning.

 

Bennett (5) of the Giants closes the door on the Dodgers by striking out three batters in the top of fourth inning.

It was a breezy summer evening down at the Bickford South diamond as Mosquito Division action resumed after the Civic Holiday long weekend.

In a well pitched game from both teams, runs were at a premium as the Giants edged the Dodgers 5-2 in three and a half innings of play.

The dog days of summer was in evidence at Christie Pits as two scheduled Mosquito Division games were compressed down to one because of a low turnout of players.

In the end, the Cubs & Pirates All-Star team edged the Cardinals & Lizzies All-Stars 12-9.
