TP NEWS: Player Evaluation Schedule for May 1

A SUNDAY MORNING EVALUATION WILL BE HELD AT CHRISTIE PITS FOR PLAYERS AND PARENTS IN ROOKIE BALL, MOSQUITO AND PEEWEE AGE GROUPS WHO WERE UNABLE TO ATTEND SATURDAY’S SESSION

With the forecasted rain not arriving in our area until mid afternoon, the TP Baseball Committee has decided to continue with our Sunday, May 1 morning evaluations for those players in our Rookie Ball; Mosquito and Peewee age classifications who were unable to attend yesterday’s sessions.

Here is the schedule for Sunday, May 1:

10:00 to 10:30 am: Peewee evaluations
10:30 to 11:00 am: Rookie Ball evaluations
11:00 to 11:30 am: Mosquito evaluations

The evaluation session will consist of throwing, hitting, and catching drills. The purpose of the evaluation session is to collect data so the Committee can put together teams that are as competitively balanced as possible.

The TP Baseball Committee wishes to thank all the players and parents who took the time to attend Saturday’s evaluation sessions at Christie Pits. In what was best described as a perfect spring day, the turnout was overwhelming and very successful. A wonderful time was had by all the players and parents in attendance.

Once the teams in our six divisions have been formulated within the next few days, the TP Baseball Committee will commence Spring Training at the beginning of May. Parents and players will receive an email or phone call from their coach informing them as to what team they will be on and the date and time of their team’s first spring training practice very soon.

There’s only 23 days to go before Opening Day of the 2011 TP Baseball Season. Welcome along for the ride!
