TP UPDATE: Rain Forces Postponement of Bantam & Midget Player Evaluations

EVALUATIONS RESCHEDULED TO THURSDAY, MAY 5 AT CHRISTIE PITS DIAMOND #1

The TP Baseball Committee has postponed tonight’s scheduled Bantam and Midget player evaluations due to rain and unsafe field conditions.

The Committee has rescheduled the Bantam and Midget evaluations to Thursday, May 5.

Here is the timetable:

BANTAM DIVISION

6:00 pm to 7:00 pm: Players whose last name starts with a letter from A to L;

7:00 pm to 8:00 pm: Players whose last name starts with a letter from M to Z.

MIDGET DIVISION

8:00 pm to 8:45 pm: Players whose last name starts with a letter (or letters) from A to Mi;

8:45 pm to 9:30 pm: Players whose last name starts with a letter (or letters) from Mo to Z.

The evaluation session will consist of throwing, hitting, and catching drills. The purpose of the evaluation session is so that we can put together teams that are as balanced as possible. However, we will shift players from team to team during the pre-season and early season period if it becomes clear that the teams aren’t balanced.

The evaluation sessions will take place at Christie Pits diamond # 1 (the large diamond in the northeast corner of the park). Players should meet a few minutes before their assigned time. We have scheduled two sessions for each division on Thursday May 5, each lasting one hour. The session that each player should attend is based on the first letter of their last name, as this is how we can keep the number of players in each session fairly even.

If for any reason, you cannot make the session that you are scheduled for, please try to attend the other session. If you absolutely can’t make either of the two sessions, please let us know by return e-mail at tpbaseball@gmail.com .

Players should bring their glove. Please let us know if you have any questions regarding the evaluation sessions.

Thanks and we’ll hopefully see everyone there on Thursday (weather permitting).
