It was a seesaw type of game as two quality teams battled and exchanged leads several times during the proceedings.

The White Sox (2-0) (behind some superb pitching from Joel (14) and Brendan (1)) made the most of their opportunities and had jumped out to an early 5-2 lead after two innings.

But the Lizzies (0-2) gamely fought back with four runs in the top of the third to take a 6-5 lead.

However, the two time defending champions fought back in the bottom of the fourth as Salim (5) of the White Sox scored and evened the game at 6-6.

With one out, Phillip (2) of the White Sox drew a walk and eventually moved to third. It was at this juncture that Simon (3) delivered a clutch single to bring Phillip home with the winning run.
