FIRING ON ALL CYLINDERS, THE DODGERS CRUISE TO FOUR INNING VICTORY AT BICKFORD PARK

MAKING THEIR PITCH > Clockwise from top left: Dodger Pitchers Cohen (6), Louis (1), Sasha (13) and Tyler (5) combine to limit the Cardinals to two runs, three hits, while striking out eight over four innings at Bickford Park.

In a lopsided affair at the Bickford Park South Diamond this evening, the Dodgers cruised to a 16-2 Mosquito Division victory over the Cardinals in four innings.

The Dodgers were firing on all cylinders as they dominated the Cardinals both offensively and defensively.

Adam (14) of the Cardinals hit a dramatic inside the park home run in the bottom of the third inning.

In the top of the first inning, the Dodgers charged out of the starting gate and scored four runs. Keying the Dodger Dogs offensive explosion was a three-run homer by Sasha (13) which brought Jacob (11) and Adam (8) homeward bound with the first three runs of the game. A clutch rbi single by Oliver (9) brought in Tyler (5) to make the score 4-0.

Dodgers starting pitcher Cohen (6) dictated the tenor of the proceedings in the bottom of the first as he allowed no runs, issued one walk and struck out two Cardinals.

A solid Dodgers pitching brigade was able to neutralize a potent Cardinals batting order over the course of four innings. Dodgers pitchers Cohen, Louis (1), Sasha (13) and Tyler (5) combined to limit the Cards to two runs, three hits, while walking seven and striking out eight.

After the Dodgers had scored four more in the top of the second to extend their lead to 8-0, the Cardinals scored a run in the bottom half of the inning when a bases loaded walk issued to Joey (15) brought home Dean (13) from third base.

In the top of the third, the Dodgers lineup continued to exercise patience at the plate and made the most of their opportunities to add four more to lead 12-1.

However, in the bottom of the third, the Cardinals scored another run in dramatic fashion when Adam (14) belted an inside the park homer to deep centre field.

The Dodgers scored four more in the top of the fourth. Sparking the Dodger Dogs offense was a clutch two run single by Astrid (2).

In the bottom of the fifth, Dodgers pitcher Tyler closed out the game by mowing down two Cardinals to seal the victory.
