SELECT > Yes Virginia, There Will Be A Rookie Select Tryout On Saturday, March 9

DUE TO A SNAFU & COMMUNICATION BREAKDOWN AT THE TDSB, IT NOW TURNS OUT THAT THERE WILL BE A ROOKIE SELECT INDOOR TRYOUT SESSION ON SATURDAY AFTER ALL

SONY DSCDue to some inexplicable mix-up and communication breakdown at the Toronto District School Board permit office, the TP Baseball Committee has discovered that we actually do have permit access the gym at the Bickford Centre for this Saturday, March 9 and the following Saturday (March 16).

Therefore, there will now be a Rookie Select Team Tryout (2004-2005) this Saturday, March 9 from 1:30 p.m. to 2:45 p.m. in the Bickford gym. The Committee realizes many people will be out of town. However, if you are interested but can’t attend please don’t worry, just give us a head’s up by e-mail at tpbaseball@gmail.com. We’ll let you know our plans regarding September 16 by Saturday night. The Committee apologizes for any inconvenience this confusion has created…we don’t know what caused the mix-up and communication breakdown in the first place.

The tryouts will again take place in the gym in the Bickford Centre (777 Bloor Street West), which is the large building on the south side of Bloor St. across the road from Christie Pits. The entrance to the gym is from the Breezeway, which is the area down the stairs from the main entrance to the building. Players must be registered in our houseleague to take part in the select tryout. I’ve attached a registration form which can be filled out in advance.

ALL players and parents participating in our Mosquito Select Team Tryouts (2002-2003) are advised that there will be no tryout session on Saturday, March 9. Updates about the next Mosquito tryout session will be posted once the dates and times have been finalized.

In person registration sessions will be available outside the gym from 1:15 p.m. to 1:45 p.m. on Saturday. In-person registration is intended for people wishing to pay cash or people who have other questions regarding registration. Forms with cheque payments can be dropped off in the Toronto Playgrounds Houseleague Baseball mailbox in the lobby of the Bob Abate Centre (485 Montrose Ave.) anytime during business hours (9:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m. on weekdays; 9:00 a.m. to 4:30 pm on Saturdays).
