IN A HARD FOUGHT BATTLE, TORONTO PLAYGROUNDS GAVE IT THEIR ALL AT RAVINA GARDENS IN LOSING THEIR FIRST GAME OF THE EBA WEST SELECT LOOP SEASON

Beneath gorgeous sunny blue skies at Ravina Gardens this afternoon, Annette defeated our TP Mosquito Selects 18-8 in 3½ innings of EBA West Select Loop action.
Despite a hard fought and determined effort, a gutsy Toronto Playgrounds team experienced their first loss after beginning the regular season with two consecutive victories.
Here are the game highlights:
- Solomon (1) hit his first triple of the season.
- Oliver (6) a.k.a. “OLY” delivered a huge 2 RBI Triple.
- ‘Birthday Boy’ Nigel (20) celebrated his special day by powering a bases clearing 3 RBI “LONG BOMB” Triple. ( Well done Nigel… and Happy Supercalifragilisticexpialidocious Birthday wishes from your teammates, coaches & general manager!!!)
- The Mosquito Selects offense received some “BIG” efforts at the plate from Alden (7) , Harris (19), Isaac (8), Lachlan (28), Louis (16) and Oliver G. (24)
- TP received some solid pitching from “OLY”, Solomon and Nigel.
- Mosquito Select catcher Louis (16) caught three solid innings behind the dish.
In a post game media scrum, TP Mosquito Select Head Coach Bill Evans was effusive about his team’s play against Annette, “Great effort. Great game. Great teamwork!”
The Mosquito Selects (2-1) return home to Christie Pits (Diamond 2) to play their next game against York on Sunday, May 26 at 6:00 p.m.
