Game Post composed with files from Marco Bianchi and Alex Bove
Beneath humid skies this evening at Dominico Field at Christie Pits, the Lizzies defeated the White Sox 16-8 in four innings of Bantam Division play.
The Lizzies offense was firing on all cylinders as every player in the lineup scored one run.
Here are the highlights:
- The turning point in the game occurred in bottom of the first inning when Lizzies starting pitcher Jacob (6) worked out of a bases loaded jam with only two runs scored by the White Sox to preserve a 4-2 lead. Jacob induced an inning ending double-play whereby shortstop Victor (7) caught a soft liner and made the throw to second baseman Carlos (15) to catch the White Sox runner off the bag at second base.
- Evan (13) broke the game open in the top of the second with a 2 RBI double to give the Lizzies an 8-2 advantage.
- Ryan (9) of the Lizzies went 2 for 2 (both doubles) at the dish with 2 RBI’s and a run scored.
- Victor (7) of the Lizzies went 2 for 2 with a walk, 2 runs scored and a RBI.
