WITH THE DOG DAYS OF SUMMER TAKING THEIR TOLL, FOUR MOSQUITO DIVISION COMBINED THEIR DEPLETED ROSTERS FOR A FUN GAME AT CHRISTIE PITS

Beneath warm summer skies this evening at Christie Pits Diamond 2, the Metscubs topped the Dodgergiants 8-5 in 2 ½ innings of Mosquito Division action.
Here are the highlights:
- With the arrival of the Simcoe Day long weekend and various summer holidays taking their toll on the Mosquito Division rosters, none of four teams scheduled to play at 5:45 p,m. were able to field full teams.
- Thus, the Dodgers and Giants merged while the Mets and Cubs did the same.
- The 2 ½ inning game was won by the Mets/Cubs 8-4.
- The game was tied 4-4 after the first with Simon getting the only hit.
- In the second, the Giant/Dodgers scored a run to take a 5-4 lead.
- In the bottom of the second, the Mets/Cubs scored four to take a 8-5 lead.
- In the top of the third, Mets/Cubs pitcher Aaron impressively struck out the Dodgers/Giants in 1-2-3 fashion to seal the deal.
