National Coaching Certification Program Clinic on April 5

IN AN INITIATIVE TO GIVE ALL OF OUR PLAYERS AN ENRICHING BASEBALL EXPERIENCE, TP BASEBALL ACTIVELY ENCOURAGES OUR VOLUNTEER HOUSE LEAGUE COACHES TO TAKE PART IN NCCP TRAINING TO GIVE THEM THE NECESSARY TOOLS TO SUCCEED

July 25, 2013 Mosquito Cubs & Giants2-001One of the strengths of our Toronto Playgrounds Baseball program are the dozens of volunteers who step up to the plate each season and generously give their valuable time and energy to coach our respective House League and Select teams.

Along with parents and teachers, coaches have an immense impact on the development of our children. It is huge responsibility as a volunteer coach to be a mentor, motivator and leader.

In that vein, the TP Baseball Committee wants to give our coaches all the tools necessary to help each and everyone of our players grow and succeed both on and off the field of play.

In a initiative to enrich the experience of all the players registered in our baseball program, we are partially financing the training of our volunteer coaches in the National Coaches Certification Program (NCCP) in conjunction with Baseball Ontario. Participating coaches will pay for the online component of the training and TP Baseball will pay for the in class sessions.

The NCCP clinics allow our volunteer coaches to learn the fundamentals of baseball and coaching through a combination of online and in class modules. Once certified, our coaches will have all the necessary tools to train and motivate players to have a fun and successful experience on the diamond.

With the completion of the online portion of the NCCP training at home, our coterie of volunteer coaches will attend the in class NCCP workshops at Harbord Collegiate Institute (286 Harbord Street) on Saturday, April 5 from 12:00 noon to 5 p.m.

The TP Baseball Committee wishes to thank all the coaches who have taken the time away from their busy schedules to participate in the NCCP clinics. It is volunteers like you who make the TP Baseball program the jewel that it is in the community.
