REGISTER NOW FOR THE TORONTO PLAYGROUNDS BASEBALL HOSTED BLUE JAYS CLINIC AT CHRISTIE PITS FOR PLAYERS AGED 8* TO 14
The Toronto Playgrounds Baseball Committee will be hosting a Toronto Blue Jays Instructional Clinic on Saturday, May 3 at Christie Pits (750 Bloor Street West) for all interested players aged 8* to 14.
Qualified Blue Jays instructors will be on hand to focus on teaching young players all the necessary fundamental baseball skills in a fun and structured atmosphere.
Each clinic will be four hours in length. During the clinic, players will rotate through drills that will deal with skills such as: hitting, throwing, fielding, pitching and baserunning. We’ll also invite coaches to come out onto the field to observe and ask the Jays instructors questions.
Each registered clinic attendee should bring their glove, bat, and helmet along with a drink and snacks. We recommend that you arrive 15 to 30 minutes before the clinic begins due to registration.
The fee for the clinic is $45.00 per player and the instructional sessions will commence at 9:00 a.m. and run until 1:00 p.m. All registered players will also receive a free Blue Jays hat, tee shirt and baseball manual for participating in the clinic.
With the Blue Jays and the TP Baseball Committee teaming up to bring about this outstanding community event, we are happy to announce that any interested parents and players can sign up online for the instructional clinic at the following link:
2014 TORONTO BLUE JAYS INSTRUCTIONAL CLINIC
Please select the “Toronto Playgrounds Christie Pits option”. Registrants for the clinic are advised that the Blue Jays will be processing all registrations and payments for the event.
[* Parents and Players are advised that the Blue Jays will gladly allow any players who are turning 8-years old this year to register for the clinic.]
The clinic will be held outdoors at Christie Pits. In the event of rain, the Jays Instructional Clinic will proceed as scheduled, with the event moving indoors to the gym facilities at Harbord Collegiate Institute (286 Harbord Street).
The Blue Jays are keenly aware of the need for local associations (like Toronto Playgrounds House League and Select Baseball) to raise funds to offset some of the rising costs they are experiencing. Therefore, TP Baseball will receive $20 per registration for hosting the instructional clinic.
Not only are the Instructional Clinics an excellent fundraising opportunity for your local baseball association, these clinics will also compliment your local association’s player development program. It’s a win win event for everyone involved.
