IN AN FUN AFFAIR, THE DARLIN’ CUBBIES CLAW BY THE ARTFUL DODGERS TO EARN THE HONEY JAR OF SWEET VICTORY AT CHRISTIE PITS

Beneath cool and sunny skies, the Cubs defeated the Dodgers 11-7 in three fun innings of Mosquito Division action this evening at Christie Pits Diamond 2.
Here are the highlights:
- Dodgers starter Charlie held the Cubbies to three runs in the first with Nick and and Alexander (2) recording key hits for the Cubs.
- Sota scored his first run as a Dodger in the bottom of the first after Lachlan stroked a double to center field to bring the Dodgers within two.
- The Cubs bats came alive in the second scoring as they scored four to extend their advantage to 7-1.
- In the bottom of the second, the Artful Dodgers roared back with four to trim the deficit to two as Harris, Cooper, Teresa and Mary came homeward bound for the Dodgers.
- The Cubs had another big inning in the top of the third as they scored four more to widen their lead to 11-5.

Teresa of the Dodgers made a Gold Glove play at second base in the third.

A determined Dodgers team fought back in the bottom of the third with Charlie and Lachlan scoring on a double from Devin to trim the deficit to four. Harris and Taras each had clutch singles to keep the Artful Dodgers rally alive.

Shaken, but not stirred, Cubs closer Shamus (9) eventually quelled the Dodgers insurgency and sealed the deal on the Cubbies hard fought victory.
