Beneath a canopy of warm and humid skies, the Royals rolled to their second Peewee Division win of the season with a five inning 14-5 victory over the Lizzies.

The Lizzies held the Royals to one run in the top of the first with Angus (11) cashing in fleet footed Jian (15) with a fielder’s choice RBI. Hayden (7) was called out for failing to slide at home on a wild throw while stealing third.

Royals starter Cormac (8) pitched a scoreless first while striking out one and getting help from his infield with a nice catch on a fly ball to right fielder Maxwell (13).

The Royals struck for two more in the top of the second to widen their advantage to 3-0 with an RBI single by Finley (3), who reached home on wild throw while stealing third.

The Lizzies answered back with four runs in the second to take the lead 4-3 off of some good pitching by Niall (9).

The Royals took a 6-4 lead in the top of third with three runs. Niall stretched a lead off walk into a run with three stolen bases in an attempted run down at home, and John Lee (14) continuing his solid hitting with a clutch RBI single.

Royals reliever Michael (5) pitched a scoreless third, a leadoff walk being erased as an attempted steal of third and finishing it off with two strikeouts.

The Royals added four runs in the top of the fourth to extend their advantage to 10-4 with Maxwell reaching home on a leadoff walk and two stolen bases and coming home on a wild pitch; Cormac and Michael (5) with an RBI singles; Harsha an RBI walk.

Royals reliever Jian (15) continued his excellent pitching with a 1-2-3 bottom of the fourth with a strikeout and two nice putouts by Rory (6) at first.

The fifth inning saw the Royals put the game out of reach with four runs insurance runs resulting from a combination of walks and stolen bases, single by Niall and RBI double by Hayden (7) to finish the inning.

Royals closer Angus (11) closed things out with a 1-2-3 strike ‘em out inning to seal the deal.

And kudos to Royals catcher Angus who threw out a wayfaring Jays baserunner attempting to steal third.
