IN ANOTHER ORNITHOLOGICAL SHOWDOWN AT CHRISTIE PITS, THE O’s PREVAIL OVER THE JAYS TO SECURE THE GOLDEN EGG OF SWEET VICTORY

Under a ceiling of warm summer skies, the Orioles defeated the Jays 8-5 in four innings of Peewee Division action this evening under the lights at Christie Pits Diamond 2.

Here are some highlights:

  • Jays starter Iliana (9) pitched two strong innings.
  • The Jays had a four run offensive explosion in the second inning. Exercising patience at the plate, Kyle (5) and Harrison (13) drew respective walks and stole bases to advance to third and second. Call up Adam (0) followed and delivered a two RBI single to bring Kyle and Harrison home.
  • In the third, the Jays scored a run when Kyle stroked a long RBI single to bting Aysha (7) homeward.
  • Jays reliever Kyle (5) pitched a strong third inning.
  • Adam (0) pitched a strong inning for the Jays in the fourth.
  • On recallable waivers from the Lizzies, Liam (8) provided some defense for the Jays at third base in the fourth.
  • In the bottom of the fourth, Adam, Elena (3) and Liam displayed patience at the dish to garner a series of walks to load the bases for the Jays. With the game on the line, the O’s closer kicked it up a notch to mow down the next two Jays batters.
  • Iliana stroked a great hit, but the O’s second baseman made a great defensive play to bring the curtain down on the proceedings.
  • Great game on a beautiful night for baseball.
