Surrounded by dense swaths of fog, the Homesteads defeated the Lizzies 9-4 in six innings of Midget Division Championship Series play this evening at Dominico Field at Christie Pits.

With the playoff victory, the Homesteads take a 1-0 lead in the best of seven championship series.

The Homesteads and Lizzies will play Game 2 of the Midget Division Championship at Dominico Field on Friday, September 5 at 8:00 p.m.
