Beneath a seasonal blanket of late summer skies, the Homesteads and Lizzies played two Midget Division Championship Series games at Dominico Field at Christie Pits on Saturday.
Entering the weekend, the Homesteads held a 1-0 lead in the best of seven championship series,
With determination, the Homesteads defeated the Lizzies 10-6 in Game 2 to take a 2-0 lead in the series.
However, the Lizzies battled back with authority in Game 3 to defeat the Homesteads 10-3 later in the afternoon to avoid falling into a 3-0 deficit in the playoff series.
The Lizzies and Homesteads will play Game 4 of the championship series on Sunday, September 7 at 4:00 p.m. at Dominico Field.
