THE TORONTO PLAYGROUNDS BASEBALL ASSOCIATION HAS SCHEDULED SEPTEMBER TRYOUTS FOR ITS RESPECTIVE REP TEAMS IN THE MINOR MOSQUITO (2005); MAJOR MOSQUITO (2004); MAJOR PEEWEE (2002); MINOR BANTAM (2001); MAJOR BANTAM (2000) AND MINOR MIDGET (1999) AGE CLASSIFICATIONS

The Toronto Playgrounds Baseball Association will field AA or A “Rep” teams in the Toronto Baseball Association at most age levels in 2015.

September tryout dates have been finalized for TP Rep Teams in the Minor Mosquito (born 2005); Major Mosquito (born 2004); Major Peewee (born 2002); Minor Bantam (born 2001); Major Bantam (born 2000); and Minor Midget (born 1999) age classifications.

Here are the 2015 TP Rep Team Tryout Schedules:

2015 MINOR MOSQUITO (born 2005) TRYOUT INFORMATION

  • The tryouts & practices for the TP Minor Mosquito Rep Team will continue every Sunday morning at 10 a.m. and on every Monday night at 6:30 pm at Christie Pits Diamond 2. The tryouts & practices will continue until the weather stops us.

These practice / tryouts are free and you can’t find a better place for this age group to learn baseball at that price. So join us and spread the word. All TP and Annette 2005 and 2006 players are welcome. Players from outside of the TP and Annette leagues are also welcome but they must have a “permission  to try out” form signed by the registrar of their league if, and only if, they were on the roster for a rep team in 2014.

The practice / tryout sessions will be run as training sessions in a way that will help all participants learn the game. This format also allows the coaches to assess a player’s ability to learn and behave in a learning environment. Since players, at this age need to learn almost everything, the “coachability” factor is very important.

2015 MAJOR MOSQUITO REP (born 2004) TRYOUT INFORMATION

  • Wednesday, September 17 > Dovercourt Park at 6:30 p.m.
  • Saturday, September 20 > Christie Pits Diamond at 11:00 a.m.
  • Sunday, September 21 > Christie Pits Diamond 3 at 11:00 a.m.
  • Tuesday, September 23 > Dovercourt Park at 6:30 p.m.

UPDATE: The Major Peewee Rep Team Tryout that was rained out on September 10 has been rescheduled to Tuesday, September 16 at Christie Pits Diamond 2 at 6:30 p.m.
