OUR THIRD ANNUAL BATTING CHALLENGE EXTRAVAGANZA IS SCHEDULED FOR THIS SUNDAY AT CHRISTIE PITS

SONY DSCA Message to Parents, Players, Coaches, Umpires, and all baseball enthusiasts:

First of all,  we would like to thank you for another wonderful season of Toronto Playgrounds Baseball at Christie Pits. We had another successful and amazingly fun year on the diamond. Congratulations to all of our tournament divisional winners and thanks to everyone for participating in another electric “September Madness”.

As in the past two years, we would like to close out our season with our ‘Derby For Distance’ Fundraiser. Our Derby is being held on Sunday, September 21 from noon until 5:00 p.m. on Diamonds #1 and #2 at Christie Pits

We are continuing to secure prizes which will include: new baseball equipment; gift certificates from  local eateries; Blue Jays tickets for the upcoming Seattle Mariners Wild Card series; and our very own, newly commissioned, TP Baseball Stainless Steel Water Bottles. Chuck, our esteemed Photo Day photographer, has generously donated a signed Joe Carter photo of his 1993 walk-off  home run, which will be on raffle for one lucky participant to take home.

Once again, we have five batting categories: 10 and under; 11-13; 14-18; adults and coachesTickets are $10 for 10 pitches or $20 for 30.  All proceeds benefit Toronto Playground House League and Select Baseball. Please click on the PDF link below to access more information on the Derby event:

2014 TP BASEBALL DERBY FOR DISTANCE POSTER

We’d love to see you at Christie Pits on Sunday. The TP Baseball BBQ will be fired up one last time and we can finish off our season having fun while hitting baseballs varying at speeds from 40 to 60 M.P.H. or more. And please don’t forget to wear your favorite baseball apparel!

Please let us know at either reaganmaude@gmail.com or wianevans@gmail.com if you are available to help volunteer during the afternoon with: set up; scoring; shagging fly balls; BBQ; or managing one of our two pitching machines.

We couldn’t host these events without you and we are thanking you in advance for helping out.

Thanks again for helping to make  for another exciting season at Toronto Playgrounds and Christie Pits.

See you on the diamond!

Sincerely,

Bill Evans
